The Importance of Self Confidence and How to Increase itTotal Views: 489

Self-Confidence is a feeling of trust in one's abilities, qualities, and judgment. Take a moment to honestly analyze yourself. Do you, emerging artists, have self-confidence? If you do have self-confidence, how much do you have?
Our slogan is Dare to be Greater with TalentRaters, but how can you be greater if you don’t believe in yourself or struggle from low self-esteem. The answer is you can’t! I have worked with many talents over the past years and the number one issue they face, yes even the professionals, is a lack of self-confidence.
The first step is identifying your talents, the second step is honing them, and the third step is to be proud of them and share them with others or showcase them to the world. You may say to yourself I could never be like so and so or I’ll never be famous, but you have to remove that negativity from your life and force yourself to be positive. Remember, fame and fortune does not happen overnight for stars. It took lots of hard work and dedication to get to that point.
In an industry that is so ruthless and cutthroat, it’s good to have strong faith in your abilities and strong determination. You will most likely not get to where you want to be until you put in years of hard work. For those individuals that do have overnight success, this is very rare and oftentimes this success can be lost just as quickly as it came. Now, I know we live in a world where it’s become taboo to talk about God but our U.S. pledge of Allegiance states that we are one nation under God and for many people once upon a time that meant something and I believe it still means a lot to many today. With that, I will certainly say that if you’re going to pursue a career in entertainment then I advise being prayerful on a daily basis. What do you have to lose? Everyone knows there are no guarantees in the industry so you might as well have the Almighty on your side.
I myself was ready to throw in the towel many times with respect to TalentRaters (TR) but it has most definitely been my faith in God that has kept me persevering in the industry and allowed my corporation to grow. God has also put good people in my life that help me to keep moving forward.
I know there are many of you that do not believe in God and this blog is not meant to offend you in anyway, but if I must be honest, much of my self-confidence comes from God. I don’t usually get biblical but once in a while it’s necessary and one of my favorite scriptures from the bible is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Now, I am by no means perfect. I am a rocker through and through and love hard rock groups and I’m sure I make at least some mistakes every day. We’re human, right? I know I am! Honestly, this short scripture above gives me much confidence! Another one I love is, “God is my rock, my fortress, and my stronghold. I shall not be greatly moved!” Yes, this passage gives me great confidence also and courage.
I want to close by saying so many of you are so awesomely talented! However, many of you lack self-confidence. So starting today, let’s make a pact. No more questioning your abilities! Stand up and be counted! Stand firmly on the Rock!
